Berani the tiger dies at Canberra zoo

Crowd favourite Sumatran tiger Berani has died unexpectedly at Canberra's National Zoo.

Staff at the National Zoo and Aquarium are mourning the "much-loved" 15-year-old's death overnight, described as "unexpected and tragic".

"It is an extremely sad and difficult time for all our staff and volunteers.

"Berani will be greatly missed," the zoo posted on its Facebook page.
