Former ACA reporter Ben McCormack told online friend he was a 'b loving pedo'

Former Nine Network reporter Ben McCormack described himself as "a total b loving pedo" in online conversations where he outlined a sexual interest in young boys.

The A Current Affair reporter went by the name Oz4skinboi when he spoke with another unnamed man for more than two years in text and Skype conversations amounting to child pornography, according to the agreed statement of facts.

The pair watched pornography together and exchanged a number of images, which have not been made available.

The man asked McCormack during one July 2015 conversation if he thought he'd always "be a p", and the reporter said "Yep, U ... I'll always have the attraction ... They are beautiful".

In January this year, McCormack told the man he liked naughty boys and the man asked, "U eva think u'll play with one? Or just fantasy?".

"I'd love to," he replied.

McCormack, 43, was arrested in April and suspended by the Nine Network after police raided ACA's Sydney office and his home.

The Nine Network today confirmed McCormack had handed in his resignation and no longer worked for the network.

He pleaded guilty today to two counts of using a carriage service to transmit, publish or promote child porn, after a new, agreed statement of facts was tendered in Downing Centre Local Court.

His lawyer Sam Macedone said McCormack "always admitted to what he's done, however the facts weren't exactly correct".

"I just wanted to make it quite clear that were never any images that were traded between Ben and anyone else of any child exploitation material," he told reporters outside court.

"It was nothing more than fantasy talk, but no transporting of images.

"That's what I wanted, that's what we've got, so we're now pleading guilty and we'll move on from there."

Court documents state "there is no evidence the images exchanged by the pair were of children in pornographic poses or activities".

McCormack is next scheduled to appear in court on Friday October 6, when his lawyer hopes he'll get a sentencing date.
