Ben Fordham back on top as 2GB and 3AW dominate radio ratings

2GB's Ben Fordham is back on top in the latest radio ratings, beating KIIS FM's Kyle and Jackie O to the coveted No.1 Sydney breakfast spot.

Sydney's 2GB and Melbourne's 3AW dominated the latest radio survey, with both stations retaining their number one positions.

Breakfast host Fordham came out Sydney's number one with a 16.8 per cent share, up 3.5 points.

"The only thing on the mind of Sydneysiders is when this lockdown is going to end and when people can see their family and friends," said Fordham.

"They want the latest information and expert analysis but they also want someone to challenge the sometimes chaotic game plan. I think we all feel a little bit lost at the moment and hopefully 2GB is providing some certainty and companionship."

Meanwhile, 2GB's Ray Hadley recorded his 135th consecutive survey win posting a 19.9 per cent share, up 6.2 points.

It is Hadley's highest cumulative audience since 2004.

In Melbourne 3AW held its dominant number one position with 15.1 per cent, the 54th consecutive survey win for the station.

3AW breakfast hosts Ross Stevenson and Russel Howcroft retained their number one spot with a 21.7 per cent share, up 0.9 per cent.

Neil Mitchell is also number one in Mornings with a 17.3 per cent share.

Nine's talk radio stations, 2GB, 3AW, 4BC and 6PR, recorded a cumulative audience increase of almost seven per cent this survey.

The network was also number one among listeners aged over 35.

"These results show listeners rely on 2GB and 3AW as their most trusted news and information," Greg Byrnes, Nine Radio's Head of Content, said.

Mr Byrnes said the 2GB result was "particularly pleasing" given work that had been going on behind the scenes over many months.
