Belmore: Man stabbed during road rage incident

A man was been stabbed in a road rage incident in Sydney’s south west on Tuesday night.

Before 7pm on Tuesday November 6th a 50-year-old man with a 25-year-old male passenger was driving west along Canterbury Road in Belmore in a grey Jeep Wrangler.

After stopping at the intersection of Belmore Road and Chapel Street, the men were approached by two other men who had got out of a white car.

The 25-year-old passenger was punched through the open window of the car.

He managed to get out of his car but suffered multiple stab wounds as he fought the two men.

The 50-year-old driver of the Jeep intervened and the attackers fled back to the white car.

The stabbing victim was driven to Canterbury Hospital and later transferred to Royal Prince Alfred Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Police were told the fight broke out after an earlier traffic incident on Canterbury Road.

Following investigations detectives from Campsie Police Area Command located and seized a white Toyota Camry in Punchbowl for forensic examination.

Police are now appealing for witnesses of the incident, particularly other drivers who may have dash cam footage of the earlier traffic incident or the scuffle.
