Greatest grill: Barbecue rankings unveiled just in time for footy finals
With footy finals closing in, many barbecues will be getting a workout this weekend.
Canstar Blue has just released its annual barbecue ratings, asking nearly a thousand owners for their opinions.
Roasting the competition and coming out on top for overall customer satisfaction was the Weber brand.
Next up, Gasmate, Jumbuck and Matador were in joint second place with four stars.
Rating three stars each were the BeefEater and Barbecues Galore BeefMaster Barbecue.
Canstar Blue editor Simon Downes said when it comes to barbecues, consumers looked for the best cooking performance, ease of use, ease of reliability and how they were easy to clean.
"Webber is striking that good balance between quality and a reasonable price so look if you're looking for a barbecue you could easily spend thousands of dollars," he said.
"But you don't have to, there are some great bargains out there and Weber is one of those brands that does have a good range of reasonably cheap barbecues that are going to do a good job."
Barbecues were rated for ease of cleaning and reliability but the most important factor driving BBQ satisfaction was cooking performance.
