Barangaroo site evacuated after bomb scare

Workers have been evacuated from Sydney's harbourside Barangaroo construction site and surrounding streets have been blocked off after a bomb scare.

Police and emergency services are on site.

Six blocks in the CBD, between Sussex and Clarence streets, are believed to have been closed.

It's understood the bomb scare is centred around Tower 2 at Barangaroo South.

"As a precautionary measure, the Barangaroo South construction site has been evacuated following police advice regarding a bomb threat," a spokesman for developers Lend Lease said.

"We will continue to work closely with the authorities on this matter."
