Driver smashes into multiple cars during police pursuit

A driver has smashed into numerous cars in an apparent bid to evade police before being wrestled to the ground in a dramatic arrest in Sydney's south-west.
The pursuit started when police attempted to stop a white an on Stacey Street in Bankstown about 12.40pm today.
The driver did not stop when the van veered into a nearby carpark it struck multiple cars.

Back up arrived and a the man was wrestled to the ground, allegedly assaulting police in the process.
He has been arrested and taken to Bankstown Police Station.
