Bali shooting suspects receive consular assistance from Australian authorities

The Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade (DFAT) is providing consular assistance to three Australians arrested in Bali over the shooting of two Melbourne men.

The trio were arrested over the attack in a luxury Canggu villa on June 14 that killed Zivan Radmanovic and injured his friend Sanar Ghanim.

DFAT has revealed it is providing consular assistance to the three men, which may include monitoring their welfare in prison, liaising with local authorities regarding their wellbeing and communicating with family.

9News understands Australian authorities are not connected to the police investigation.

Former Sydney plumber Darcy Francesco Jenson, 37, was arrested at an airport in Jakarta on June 17, where he was said to be trying to flee to Cambodia.

About the same time it's understood Coskun Mevlut, 23, was arrested in Singapore.

A third suspect, 37-year-old Tupou Pasa Midolmore, was also arrested overseas and brought back to Bali.

Balinese police have seized six motorbikes believed to have been used in the shooting, along with two getaway cars.

Bullets, a bag, passport, money and a sledgehammer found at the crime scene have also been seized as part of the investigation.

The Australian suspects could face charges of premeditated murder, which carries a maximum penalty of death by firing squad in Indonesia.
