Baird defends surfing buddy Tony Abbott

NSW Premier Mike Baird can't put his finger on why his surfing buddy Tony Abbott was unpopular with Australians.
"The Tony I know is just a humble, genuine Aussie guy that loves his country," Mr Baird told Ten's The Project on Monday.
He also joked the former prime minister had set a date for his comeback, following his loss of the leadership to Malcolm Turnbull in September.
