Baden-Clay found wearing wedding ring

Brisbane mother Allison Baden-Clay was wearing her wedding ring when she was found dead on the banks of a creek not far from her home, the jury at her husband's murder trial has heard.

Gerard Baden-Clay has been charged with murdering his wife in April 2012, the Courier Mail reports.

On the second day of the trial jurors were shown a photo of Ms Baden-Clay's solitaire diamond ring and wedding band on a blue tarp.

The fourth witness to testify, Scientific Section police officer Sergeant Nicole Tyson, described the clothes the mother was wearing when her body was discovered.

"When I first observed Allison she had on a pair of three-quarter length pants, socks and shoes, a top and also a jumper that was wrapped around her head and neck area,"’ she said.

She added that there were twigs and leaves in Ms Baden-Clay's hair as well as under the arms of her jumper.

The material was placed in a bottle and sent to a botanist for examination.

Earlier another forensic officer said the muddy bank where the body was found - 14m below the Kholo bridge - was so difficult to access that a policeman fell over and seriously injured his shoulder trying to get down.

Former real estate agent Gerard Baden-Clay has pleaded not guilty to murdering his wife in April 2012.
