‘Over-reaction’: Former spinner slams Aussies for concern over Indian skipper after bouncer

Former Australian spinner Greg Matthews has slammed the on-field "over-reaction" after Indian captain Virat Kohli copped a bouncer to the skull during the third day of the Adelaide Test yesterday.
The Australian team, still raw from former teammate Phillip Hughes' recent tragic death, rushed to Kohli's side after a Mitchell Johnson short ball struck him on the helmet.
The skipper was fine and played on, eventually hitting a century to give the visitors a fighting chance of catching up to the Australian first-innings total.
Matthews said he was disappointed to see the "over-reaction", news.com.au has reported.
"It’s a Test match. It’s tough cricket out there, you want people getting on with it," he said.
"Watching the umpires and everyone converge just highlighted something we need to move past."
Former Test player Hughes died in St Vincents Hospital in Sydney last week after collapsing on the field during a Sheffield Shield match when he was struck on the head by a bouncer.
