Australia will help Indonesia with terror

Australia is always prepared to play its part in helping stop terrorist activity in Indonesia, Foreign Minister Julie Bishop says.

Speaking after the arrest of six members of an Islamic State-inspired network in Indonesia following information from Australian federal police and the FBI, Ms Bishop said the two countries were co-operating extremely closely.

"Australia is always prepared to play its part and in this instance it would appear that the Indonesian police have been very successful in thwarting an attempted terrorist activity," she told reporters after a meeting with her Indonesian counterpart in Sydney.
