Australia Post in dark over possible sale

Australia Post still doesn't know if it's up for sale, just a day before the federal budget.

Australia Post chief executive Ahmed Fahour says he hasn't been told the government business is on the market.

"If we are, I don't know anything about it," Mr Fahour told Fairfax radio on Monday.

"It's really a matter for the government and we certainly haven't been informed of anything."

The federal government's recent commission of audit recommended Australia Post be privatised, but Treasurer Joe Hockey wouldn't commit to all of the audit's findings.
