Foreign Minister Julie Bishop and her French counterpart have implored the Indonesian government to show clemency to its citizens on death row.
Ms Bishop, in Paris for meetings with Laurent Fabius, discussed the plight of Australians Andrew Chan and Myuran Sukumaran and Frenchman Serge Atlaoui, who face imminent execution.
Ms Bishop said France and Australia stood together against the death penalty and pleaded for the Indonesian president to spare their lives.
