Aussie charged with kidnapping own son faces Bali court

An Australian man has faced court in Bali accused of kidnapping his own son.

Alistair Larmour has been charged with abduction and assault after he and a friend allegedly attacked baby Andrew's mother and abducted the 15-month-old in April.

If found guilty, he could face 15 years in jail and a $30,000 fine for the alleged abduction, along with a maximum of two years and eight months for the alleged assault.

He refused to comment when he left court.

"I don't have anything to say today, you can all go home and enjoy the rest of your day," he said.

"I have nothing further to say. Your questions are a waste of time."

Born in Melbourne, Mr Larmour lived in Western Australia for at least two years before moving to Bali.

The life coach and healer has his own website and claims to have logged more than 10,000 hours of meditation.

Mr Larmour will return to court on August 16.
