The international trailer for the Ghostbusters reboot has hit the internet, and it features much more Chris Hemsworth than its predecessor.

The Aussie actor takes on a supporting role as a receptionist in the film alongside the main four female protagonists, played by Kristen Wigg, Melissa McCarthy, Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon.

Director Paul Feig decided on a total gender swap for his reboot of the film, as the four original Ghostbusters were men and their receptionist a woman, played by Janine Melnitz.

The movie came under fire last week after the full trailer was released by Sony, with some calling the film out for racism.

The main criticism was that Leslie Jones was the only character who did not have a university degree.

Jones has since come out in defence of her character asking why “regular people” can’t save the world.

The Ghostbusters new trailer also seemed to include a nod to the criticisms.

At one point in the two minute clip Jones’ character shouts out “I don’t know if this is a race thing or a lady thing, but I’m pi**ed as hell!”

Ghostbusters is expected in Australian cinemas on July 14.
