Children among ten injured in NSW bushland ute rollover

Three children are in hospital after a ute believed to be carrying 12 people rolled in bushland near Lithgow in central New South Wales, injuring ten.

At least eight people were in the tray of the ute when it rolled in the Newnes State Forest about 12.30pm AEDT, police believe. 

A 14-year-old boy and 12-year-old girl have been airlifted to the Children's Hospital at Westmead in a serious condition.

They have multiple injuries, while an eight-year-old girl transported to Lithgow hospital has a suspected broken arm.

A NSW Ambulance spokesman said patients ranged in aged from seven through to their early 30s. 

"Just after midday today, ambulance was called to a rollover in the Newnes State Forest just out of Lithgow," he said. 

"On arrival we had a ute with 12 occupants... some ejected."

Five ambulances and a rescue helicopter were called, the spokesman said.
