Unlicensed driver allegedly crashes luxury sports car worth hundreds of thousands
The driver of a high-powered sports car has lost his licence for a year after allegedly evading police and slamming into a bus shelter in Adelaide.
Security vision captured the Aston Martin Vantage, a model worth hundreds of thousands of dollars, swerving from a side street, narrowly avoiding an oncoming vehicle before mounting the footpath and colliding with the bus shelter in Gilles Plains.
"He had to have been going pretty quick … because it was very loud," local resident Chris Christiansen said.

The 50-year-old driver, who was uninjured in the collision, has been reported for driving unlicensed, aggravated driving without due care, and driving in a dangerous manner. Nine
"It wasn't a fender bender loud, it was a smash 'em up, crash 'em up loud."
"All of a sudden it was quiet and then I heard a wham, bang… the house vibrated and then I thought what the hell was that all about," witness Steve Jetson said.
Police allege that minutes prior to the crash, they attempted to stop the Aston Martin on North East Road after it was observed leaving a nearby hotel car park at high speed.
It is alleged the driver failed to stop, and shortly afterwards, lost control.

"This is a busy sort of intersection, so we hear cars coming up and down here pretty quickly. But to hear that loud of a crash, we thought 'wow, that's big'," Christiansen said.
