Assault case against Liam Foran dropped
An assault charge against fringe Parramatta Eels NRL player Liam Foran has been dropped.
The 26-year-old New Zealander appeared at Gosford Local Court on Tuesday with his lawyer, who informed the court that the case had been withdrawn.
An AVO against Foran was also withdrawn.
Police had alleged the utility player assaulted his uncle Kevin Fielden on January 12 during a dispute at Foran's home in Wamberal on the Central Coast.
It's understood Mr Fielden resides in New Zealand and has declined to return to Australia to give further evidence.
Foran, the brother of star playmaker Kieran, played a handful of NRL matches for Melbourne and Manly before joining the Eels this year.
He is yet to make his club debut for the Eels.
