Police Scotland released a statement earlier that a 29-year-old man had been detained around 6am on Wednesday (3pm AEST) after police were called to a disturbance.

Australian officials are reportedly meeting with chef de mission Steve Moneghetti over the matter.

It was not clear whether the arrest was related to the suspension of Athletics Australia head coach Eric Hollingsworth.
