Dog Squad tracks two men who allegedly robbed tavern in Burleigh Waters armed with gun

Four people are speaking with police after an armed robbery at a tavern in Burleigh Waters on the Gold Coast early this morning.

Police say two men entered the tavern, just off Bermuda Street, around 2.40am. One is believed to have been armed with a firearm.

Staff and patrons were threatened before the men left in a black car with a sum of cash.

The car was later located just before 3.30am in Santabelle Crescent in Clear Island Waters. The Dog Squad tracked the two men to a residence nearby.

The two men are among four people currently assisting police.

Investigations are continuing.
