Mr Brady, 52, arrived in Queensland's far north on Monday for a business trip.

Police said he was a "regular Joe" who had been to Cairns previously for work.

Mr Brady's family raised the alarm when he missed his flight home on Thursday.

He was last seen on security video at a nearby Caltex.

The body was discovered yesterday afternoon.

"The exact extent of the injuries are still being assessed during the post-mortem process and we'll take all of that into account as we try to establish exactly what the cause of death is," Detective Inspector Jason Smith said.
