Mum, ex-partner charged with child homicide in cold-case breakthrough

Victoria Police have made a major development in their investigation into the death of a 23-month-old girl more than 10 years ago.

Angela Bannister died under suspicious circumstances in Echuca on July 19, 2008.

This morning detectives arrested the child’s mother, Tania Walker, and her former partner Daniel Simmons.

Ms Walker, 35, and Mr Simmons, 44, have each been charged with one count of child homicide.

They appeared in the Echuca Magistrates’ Court late this afternoon.
