Last Friday Mr O'Keefe was refused bail in a Sydney court over the alleged assault and choking of a woman at his CBD apartment.

He was charged with two counts of intentionally choking a person without their consent, three counts of common assault and one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.

The court was told of his history of mental health issues and ice addiction.

A magistrate refused his application to be released. He said O'Keefe, who was once an ambassador for White Ribbon, a charity that aims to end violence against women, would likely be jailed if found guilty.
