An American woman has been found with minor injuries after going missing in dense bushland on the New South Wales far south coast two days ago.

The 65-year-old US national was last seen about 3pm Saturday, on a bushwalk in the Deua National Park, near Moruya.

She was reported missing when she had still not returned from the walk about 9am yesterday.

Police and SES personnel launched a large-scale search, and called in a helicopter to help check the area.

A search team found the woman safe and well this morning, police said in a statement.

She will require treatment for minor injuries.
