Man's best friend? Alleged robber's two dogs lead police straight to him

Police have been led to an alleged robber who assaulted a pharmacy employee in rural NSW by the man’s two dogs.

The man entered the store on Peisley Street in Orange on Tuesday and police allege he demanded drugs from the safe before he assaulted an employee, who was uninjured.

After the man was handed some drugs, he fled from the scene on a push bike. He was trailed quickly by the pair of pups who were captured on CCTV footage.

The loyal pets followed the bicycle and inadvertently led police to a local park.

Investigators then followed the animals straight to a premises where the 36-year-old suspect was swiftly apprehended and the allegedly stolen items recovered.

He has been charged with aggravated robbery and will face Orange Local Court later today.
