Two dozen alleged Bandidos bikies are expected to face trial in September over a brawl that sparked Queensland's tough anti-gang laws.

Violence broke out at a restaurant precinct at Broadbeach on the Gold Coast last September.

The event motivated the Newman government to introduce a suite of controversial laws aimed at bikie and other criminal gangs.

The case, involving 24 alleged Bandidos, was mentioned in the Southport Magistrates Court on Tuesday.

Magistrate Michael O'Driscoll set aside the week of September 15 for the matter to be heard. The cases will be mentioned again next month.
