Driver allegedly blew five times over the alcohol limit with child in car
An alleged drink driver who blew more than five times the legal alcohol limit in Melbourne's west yesterday had a five-year-old girl incorrectly restrained in the back seat.
A 35-year-old man was allegedly driving erratically on the Westgate Freeway about 2.45pm in Altona North when he was stopped by police.
The driver of the Holden Trax, a Deer Park man, was given a preliminary breath test before undertaking a test at a nearby police station, which returned an alleged result of 0.263.

The man's car was immediately impounded with towing costs of $896.20. He is to be charged on summons for drink driving and other traffic offences.
The intercept forms part of Operation Regal, a four-day police blitz on road safety over the Queen's Birthday long weekend.
"The state-wide operation aims to reduce road trauma, including the number of lives lost and injuries on our roads," Senior Constable Adam West said.
"During this time motorists can expect to be breath tested and drug tested, have their vehicles scanned and be checked for speeding."
The operation runs until just before midnight tonight.
