'All families benefit', says PM Abbott

All Australian families will benefit from the government's social services budget, Prime Minister Tony Abbott insists.

Mr Abbott said the "vast majority" of people would be "significantly better off" from Tuesday's budget.

Asked whether that meant some families would get nothing out of the budget, he told reporters in Canberra on Monday: "There are enormous benefits in our social services system for all families, including two-parent single-income families which are about 20 per cent of all families."
