Alice Springs youth curfew to end, heavy police presence to remain
"High visibility policing" will be in force after the Alice Springs youth curfew ends next week.
Police will actively patrol with a specific focus on some areas, like bottle shops, at the end of the "circuit breaker" curfew on April 16.
The extra 25 Northern Territory and South Australian police officers deployed to the town will remain in the red centre after the curfew ends.

Northern Territory Chief Minister Eva Lawler said no children should be walking the street at night.
"They should be somewhere safe," Lawler said.
"I'm taking a common sense approach to improve community safety and lower crime in Alice Springs.

"We're putting in place a range of measures to build on the success of the youth curfew and we will be constantly monitoring the situation on the ground."
The curfew was extended for six days after it was introduced for those under 18 from 6pm to 6am for two weeks from March 27 following violent outbursts in the town centre.
Under the rules, any child seen outside during curfew hours will be taken home or to a safe place and no criminal penalties will be applied.
