A man who brutally bashed his girlfriend and left her to die alone in a bedroom will spend at least 20 years behind bars.
Alexander Dow Freeburn, 29, was jailed in the Victorian Supreme Court today after being found guilty of murdering Kew woman Elizabeth Wilms in 2016.

He was jailed for 25 years, with a non-parole period of 20 years.
