Recall issued for ice-cream over allergy information

In news nobody likes to hear over summer, a recall has been issued for an ice cream product that has been sold in several states.

The NSW Food Authority confirmed that Aldi was conducting a recall of one-litre tubs of Indulge Butterscotch Pear Gourmet Ice Cream.

The recall was issued due to the use of incorrect packaging which failed to advise buyers of the presence of peanut allergens.

Anybody who has a peanut allergy or intolerance may have a reaction if they eat it.

The product was sold in Aldi stores in New South Wales, Queensland, and the Australian Capital Territory.

Tubs subject to the recall will be marked with a "best before" date of 09/05/2023.

People with a peanut allergy who have bought the ice cream can return it to an Aldi store for a full refund.
