Aldi hotdogs recalled over bacteria and bone fragments

Aldi supermarkets across Australia have been forced to recall a range of hotdogs due to potential microbial contamination and the presence of foreign matter.

The NSW Food Authority issued the recall for Berg Smallgoods American Style Skinless Hot Dogs in a 375g plastic pack, for date codes up to and including a January 28, 2018 use by date.

The foreign matter found in the hotdogs includes bone fragments.

Consumers have been urged to avoid eating the hotdogs and asked to return them to where they purchased them for a full refund.

A spokesman for Aldi said the company "was committed to providing its customers with safe products of the highest quality.

"Aldi is conducting a close investigation with the supplier of the product and is collaborating with the NSW Food Authority," he said.
