Albatross found with toothbrush inside

An albatross was found with an entire toothbrush in its stomach by a scientist researching marine plastic pollution.

CSIRO researcher Britta-Denise Hardesty says she's even found bottle caps and glass bottles with metal lids inside seabirds.

"On Lord Howe (Island) one of the pieces of plastic I found, you can read the label, it says, `Made in Australia'," she told a parliamentary inquiry in Canberra on Friday.
