AFL fan claims he hired mobility scooter to pose as disabled supporter

An AFL fan has claimed to have hired a mobility scooter to obtain a disabled-area seat at the clash between Essendon and Fremantle on Sunday.

The unidentified fan took to Reddit to share a photograph of the mobility scooter in the disabled section of Etihad stadium.

A sign reads “Priority access for mobility impaired patrons and their companions”.

“Protip: hiring a mobility scooter and buying a $17 standing ticket at Etihad gets you in a $70 seat,” the post published on Sunday read.

The post was quickly condemned by other users as unjust and lacking human decency.

“So f---ing wrong,” one user wrote.

When questioned whether the cost of hiring the scooter would outweigh the ticket anyway, the user, Bluejeans90210 wrote: “$4 an hour”.
