Adventurous feline returns home after more than 18 months

Microchip technology has assisted the reunion of a Melbourne woman and her long-lost cat Olly, just in time for Christmas.

Olly was given to Beverley Bennelle as a Christmas present six years ago, however due to some confusion she gave him the festive name of Holly.

"When I took her to the vets they said 'she's not a Holly, she's an Olly'," Ms Bennelle said.

In August last year her best mate went missing and with her husband passed away, Ms Bennelle prayed for Olly's safe return.

Two days ago she was contacted by Banyule Council rangers who found Olly 108km away in a Watsonia backyard.
