Adelaide nurse stabbed in the neck by man ‘who asked for cigarette’
Police are searching for a man who approached a nurse while she was leaving work at an Adelaide hospital and stabbed her in the neck.
The woman was leaving the Lyell McEwin Hospital, in the city’s north, at about 6.30pm yesterday when the man – who was not known to her – approached and asked for a cigarette.
The alleged attacker than stabbed her in the neck with a sharp object and fled the scene.

The woman was treated at the hospital and this morning remains there in a stable condition with non-life-threatening injuries.
Police have confirmed they are looking for a suspect who has been described as being of Caucasian appearance, is about 185cm tall with short dark hair and was wearing a black jumper at the time of the incident.
