Man in custody after violent rampage up and down Adelaide street
A man is in custody after an alleged violent rampage where another man was stabbed and a dozen cars were damaged in Adelaide’s northeast this afternoon.
Emergency services were called to Craig Street, Greenacres at about 2pm after receiving several calls from concerned residents about a man who was pacing up and down the street allegedly smashing cars with a large wooden stick.

“Oh my god, he is dangerous. He has a big wooden stick like maybe five feet,” a witness said as he filmed from inside his home.
“He is terrifying the street. He is a dangerous man.”
When police arrived, they found a 55-year-old man who was stabbed in the chest with a pair of scissors.
He was rushed to Royal Adelaide Hospital in a serious condition.
A short time later, police located the 45-year-old suspect who had dark paint across his face and shirt and placed him under arrest.

“It was pretty scary, he was just yelling nonsense and smashing up cars,” witness Taylor Harvey told 9News.
“It was pretty terrifying.”
The outburst lasted more than an hour and was captured on video as more than a dozen parked cars were damaged.
“He pretty much broke all the windscreens and side mirrors of all the cars,” another witness said.
The suspect remains under police guard in hospital as he undergoes a mental health assessment. No charges have been laid and the cause for the violent outburst is still unclear.
