Adelaide man shot in targeted attack

A 42-year-old man has been shot in a targeted attack in Adelaide's northern suburbs.

Police say the man arrived at the Lyell McEwin Hospital just after 3.30am (CDST) on Friday with a shotgun wound.

He was transferred to the Royal Adelaide Hospital where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are trying to identified the scene of the shooting and are speaking to witnesses.

They say the victim was the intended target of his attacker.
