Adelaide lawyer Lauren Willgoose has been found guilty of a drunken hit-run crash that killed a respected neuro-psychologist.

Today, after 16 months of deliberation, a judge ruled that Willgoose was under the influence of more than a litre of wine when she struck and killed 70-year-old Tony Walsh on Goodwood Road in 2021, before fleeing the scene.

"There are no winners out of this... Anthony has lost his life and a life he enjoyed living," Walsh's widow Christine said.

"I guess it's a sense of relief that there is justice but it's also the impact on everybody who's had to experience this, including her," she added.

Willgoose, a 32-year-old mother of one, was swiftly bundled from the courthouse and into a waiting vehicle following the verdict.

It was revealed in court today that Willgoose had been permitted to drive since the incident, and was only barred from the roads today as part of her new bail agreement.

Prosecutors wanted her to be taken straight into custody today, but the judge allowed her bail to continue until at least February, meaning she will get to spend Christmas with her family.
