Curious koala freed after getting himself stuck behind bars

A curious koala has had to be rescued in Adelaide's south today after getting his head stuck in a fence at a power sub-station.

Workers noticed the adult male stranded at the Happy Valley sub-station around 8.30am.

Wildlife rescuers were called in. They assessed the marsupial before managing to free him.

They believe the koala may have been stuck between the bars all night.

Despite his ordeal, the koala was uninjured and has now been released back into the wild.
