Teenager shot in leg during 'scary' drive-by in Adelaide

A teenager has been injured as the house he was in was sprayed with gunshots in a drive-by shooting in Adelaide.

The incident occurred just before 4am on Eton Drive in Andrews Farm, with CCTV footage capturing the sound of a single gunshot. 

The 18-year-old victim was struck in the leg and rushed to the Royal Adelaide Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

"It's a bit unsettling, especially since I'm sleeping right down the road," said neighbour Summer Van Den Brink.

"It's pretty scary knowing the people that live there… they're very lovely people, very nice kids, and it's very scary to know that it's happened to them," said Bailey Robinson, another neighbour.

Police quickly pursued a vehicle spotted near the scene. The car was later found abandoned in a dead-end street, and a suspect was seen fleeing on foot, leading to a police chase.

Crime scene investigators gathered evidence this morning, including uncovering a firearm in a second vehicle close to the scene. 

Two 17-year-old boys from Muno Para and Smithfield Plains were arrested and later charged with possessing ammunition without a license and failing to answer questions.

Operation Meld, the taskforce set up to tackle African youth gang violence, is involved in the investigation.
