Daughter of Eagles coach Adam Simpson out of hospital

The daughter of West Coast Eagles coach Adam Simpson has been released from hospital after a health scare over the weekend.

Elsa, the youngest of Simpson's four children, fell ill while the Eagles were in Melbourne preparing for yesterday's game against the Western Bulldogs.

The head coach flew home before the Eagles game to be by her side.

Today, Simpson thanked his club, and the public for its support, and understanding.

"A sincere thank you to everyone for your messages of support over the past 24 hours. Elsa has turned the corner and is in good spirits and for that we are extremely grateful," Simpson said in a statement.

"As we all know footy is a big part of our lives but family comes first and I thank the club for its support during this time.

"I am extremely proud of how the players, coaches and staff handled themselves yesterday.

"We all look forward to taking on the Cats on Sunday."

West Coast Eagles forwards coach Jaymie Graham led the team to a 50-point win in Simpson's absence.
