ACT teenager behind Google's Day logo

A Canberra teenage girl's sketch has taken the place of Google's multicoloured logo for Australia Day.

Sixteen-year-old Ineka Voigt, from Canberra High School, beat 26,000 other students from around Australia in the Doodle 4 Google competition to redesign the logo, which can be seen on Tuesday.

Ineka called her work `Stolen Dreamtime' saying it dealt with part of Australian history she wishes she could change.

"A weeping mother sits in an ochre desert, dreaming of her children and a life that never was... all that remains is red sand, tears and the whispers of her stolen dreamtime," she said about the work when she won last year.

In the competition, school students across Australia were asked to draw their own version of the Google logo, inspired by the theme "If I could go back in time I would...".
