ACT residents push for right-to-die laws

Canberra residents are pushing the federal government to allow them the right to decide how they should die.

Greens MLA Shane Rattenbury has started collecting signatures for a petition that calls on federal parliament to overturn a 1997 law that bans territories from making voluntary euthanasia lawful.

"I am asking the people of the ACT to take a stand with me and demand the commonwealth gives us back our territory rights," he said.
