A Sydney man charged with fatally shooting another man in the head has pleaded not guilty to murder.

Police have previously alleged Falah Alkanaan, then 27, was just a metre away from Hussein Khanafer when he shot the 31-year-old in the western Sydney suburb of Blackett on February 2 last year.

Alkanaan appeared at the NSW Supreme Court on Friday where he pleaded not guilty to the murder and to two charges of conspiracy to influence a witness.

He will remain in custody until his next court appearance in May.

His co-accused, Ben Toleafoa, pleaded not guilty on Friday to being an accessory after the alleged murder.

Toleafoa will remain on bail and will re-appear in court in May.
