CCTV footage shows 'drunk woman driving down boardwalk

Police have charged a woman with drink-driving after she allegedly parked her car on a public boardwalk in South Bank in Brisbane.

The car, a white Mitsubishi Magna, was found at 6.50pm yesterday on a boardwalk near Kurilpa Bridge in the city's recreational precinct.

South Bank security discovered the car during one of their regular patrols of the busy thoroughfare for pedestrians and cyclists.

Police say the woman, 40-year-old Cheryl Taylor, drove from Atkinsons Dam about 85km away, where she had allegedly been drinking alcohol.

It is alleged she drove through the Kurilpa parkway limited-access walkway and bicycle path before being stopped by police.

CCTV footage captured from the area shows the car being driven at speed down down the boardwalk, narrowly missing cyclists and pedestrians who were also using the thoroughfare at the same time.

The vision also shows Ms Taylor, dressed in a singlet and shorts, being stopped by police officers and apprehended while barefoot.

She is accused of being unlicensed and the car she was driving was also found to be unregistered.

9NEWS understand Ms Taylor moved to Queensland in 2017 and has been banned from driving three times.

In September, she was caught drink-driving and recorded a blood-alcohol level of 0.124 after following a car for 165km with no headlights on. Despite being disqualified from driving for three moths, less than a month later she blew 0.183 at Gatton and was disqualified for a further six months.

Yesterday, Ms Taylor was taken to hospital and recorded a blood alcohol level of 0.153. She has been charged with three offences and will appear in court on February 13.
