One man confirmed dead in Bundeena crash

One man has died and another man is in a critical condition following a serious two-vehicle crash at Bundeena, in Sydney’s south, this afternoon. 

Just before 3pm, emergency services were called to Bundeena Drive, two kilometres west of Bundeena, following reports of a crash.

Initial inquiries suggest a ute and a Hyundai Ascent collided head-on.

The driver of the Hyundai Ascent, an 82-year-old man, was unconscious and trapped in the vehicle.

Paramedics attempted to resuscitate him, however, he died at the scene.

The driver of the ute, a 52-year-old man, sustained a possible fractured leg, and was airlifted to St George Hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

It is understood one of the men was ejected from a vehicle.

Officers from Sutherland Local Area Command attended and commenced investigations.

Bundeena Drive is closed just past Maianbar Road due to the crash approaching Woodfield Avenue.

Motorist are advised to avoid the area.
