Wild weather fails to dampen spirits as punters take Melbourne Cup by storm

A historic Melbourne Cup run has seen Half Yours jockey Jamie Melham become the first female to win the Caulfield Cup-Melbourne Cup double.

Trackside, unpredictable showers did little to dissuade revellers from making the most of the fun at Flemington.

A Current Affair got amongst the Cup Day crowds to capture some of the characters of the Spring Racing Carnival.
