A violent row involving the father of a famous rugby league player has erupted in the Western Sydney suburb of Doonside.

New South Wales Origin and Kangaroos star Josh Addo-Carr has recruited his lawyer to act on behalf of his dad, Joey Addo, who claims he's been subjected to racial taunts in an ugly feud with his neighbours.

"Josh believes what his family is being subjected to, in terms of racial vilification, is totally unacceptable," Addo-Carr's lawyer Elias Tabchouri, principal of Macquarie Law Group, told A Current Affair.

Videos obtained by A Current Affair show the once peaceful cul-de-sac exploding into chaos, with a shirtless Addo threatening to fight his neighbour Vincent Hoffman and his son David.

Addo claims on this particular occasion he snapped because of "the racial slurs the night before" directed at him and his children by the Hoffmans.

"How am I a racist? I grew up with aboriginal people, I love aboriginal people," Hoffman said.

Hoffman has appealed to Addo-Carr to use his influence to reign in his relatives.

In one expletive-ridden video Hoffman can be heard yelling "Josh Addo-Carr is going down".

"What's Josh got to do with it? He's never been around, never been there once," Addo said.

"This (racism) is why we react because we are the ones screaming out for help, where's the law?" Trindall said.

Police continue to be called by the warring neighbours and the Department of Communities and Justice (DJC) is now involved.

The DCJ said it has encouraged parties to enter a mediation process and it has referred them to community-based support services.
